Lauren Cardon, PhD

The Image Advisor was founded by Lauren Cardon, a PhD and fashion columnist with over 10 years experience in career services and image consulting. Dr. Cardon began assisting students with résumés and application essays in 1999 in Austin, Texas, as part of her work at the University of Texas writing center. She began writing résumés, cover letters, and related professional materials in New Orleans in 2003 at Strategic Résumés, where she was trained by founder and CEO Grant Cooper. In 2006, she began writing job materials and providing image consulting services for various professionals in New York City, and in 2008 she earned her doctoral degree in English at Tulane University. For over a year now Dr. Cardon has been writing a Personal Style column for the New Orleans Examiner, and for the past two years she has taught a course entitled “Physical Transformations in American Literature and Popular Culture.”
